ok i dont really know much about monitor refresh rates... could anyone tell me how to check mine?
and.. whats an acceptable refresh rate before you start noticing the flicker on screen?

i have a ViewSonic PF790 and a Geforce256 running at 1024x768, i'm curious if i can run it at the next 4:3 ratio res (i duno what that is... 1152x864?) cus i need more room for my photoshop work...

thanks in advance..

Right click on decktop/properties/setting/advanced/adapter, refresh rate is shown here. Default or optimal can tend to be fairly low.

75Hz would be the lowest you want, 85Hz or more for long periods of viewing.

Geforce & Viewsonic can handle some high 2D resolutions 4/3 ratio's 1152X864, 1280X1024 or even 1600X1200X77Hz.

I agree with CAMS I recommend 85Hz refresh rate no matter what resolution you use.

CAMS sorry but according to my calculations 1280 x 1024 is a 5 x 4 aspect ratio not 4 X 3 :)

The 4 x 3 aspect ratio with 1280 would be 960 - 1280x960 resolution. Pretty obvious, and a little nit-picky, but I was a little "board" ("bored", message "board", get it? Oh well:eek:), so I figured I'd post it anyway.
