Better than BK, MickyD's, and Wendy's. Do any of you guys have a Checkers in your area? If so, how would you rate them?
 
Started in Alabama, but is based in the Tampa bay area. They actually assemble all of the restaurants in a line located in Clearwater that looks sort of like a boat dock that you would assemble boats in.

Rally's used to be a separate restaurant with the same concept. Checkers bought them up and made all of the menus the same.

I don't eat there much anymore because they discontinued the Cajun champ. It was a 1/4 pound with VERY FRESH red onions on it and a spicy sauce. That was a great burger.

If I go to one now, I get the Chicken Strips. Way better chicken than McD, Wendy's and BK and they give you ranch and buffalo sauce. I use the ranch for the chicken and actually use the buffalo sauce for the fries. Trust me. Somehow it works.

They're different. You know? I mean, you get some good fries that are good because they're fresh cut and fried just right. But the way the Checkers fries are.. I guess they're breaded??... and then fried and then seasoned. They're like Arby's curly fries... but not curly.. and seasoned a lot better. Ok. They're nothing like Arby's curly fries... but you know what I mean.

I didn't want to get into a city food war here, but yes, Chickies & Pete's crab fries are absolutely scrumptious and pwn any place in NY with authority, but more people can relate to Checkers which are simalar in spices, to answer your question. 😛

Yeah. That's usually the case. It's like Hardee's and Carl Jr's. Same company. Same menu. Different names.

Not so. All of the Checkers locations in the IL Quad Cities (2 in Rock Island, 1 in East Moline) area are still open. As are the ones in the IA side of the Quad Cities as well.

BTW, Checkers fries are awesome when they're hot!

Rally's & Checkers are one in the same now. Much like Hardees and Carl Jr's.

edit: Didn't notice JonnyGURU's post stating the same...
