I have XP home install and Im trying to figure why all programs that have checkbox options ie. msconfig startup or Crap cleaner (ccleaner.com) will not show a check even though its already selected. Ive attached a screenshot, most of the options are already checked and the apps do startup but why does it show only one checked?

Not sure, but viruses will do similar things so that, for example, Norton AV doesn't load on startup and the virus can infiltrate the system. Run a COUPLE of good virus checkers AND a good spyware checker. I use AVG (free) from www.grisoft.com for viruses and Spybot for free or PestPatrol (preference) but PP is $29. Stay away from cutesy little 'extra' programs and utilities with the exception of virus and spyware stuff.
