I was looking at a post by notfred about location being changed to US Minor Outlying Islands and noticed my email had REMOVE in it
ie...sharsh01REMOVE@cox.net
So I decided to look at a couple of other users profiles and sure enough they had the same tag put into their email addy. Personally I don't think it is a big problem, just more of an irritation.

Its to stop people steeling your email address programatically by reading in the page and then spamming you. Almost every forum today has it.

It still creates a problem when trying to use it to email someone by just clicking on their email addy. I just tried it on myself. I clicked the link in my profile to my home email addy. Sure enough, I received an undeliverable message.

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

The e-mail system was unable to deliver the message, but did not report a specific reason. Check the address and try again. If it still fails, contact your system administrator.

Janon, I don't doubt that it may be in other forums, this is just the first time I have seen it. I still believe it will cause problems when people try to use the link to email fellow members. I have no problem when trying to institute security measures, but we now some functionality.
