Hey Mods,

Did you ever consider the limited utility of posting the "Cookies Warning" on a site that can't be gotten to because of the problem under discussion. Posting that over on the Anandtech side would have been much more useful. I can almost always get to the Anandtech side when there are forum problems. Please make a habit of posting known forum issues there.

Thanks,
.bh.

Hey Zepper,
Did you ever consider that we can't post anything there?
Thanks,

ANSWER:
Agreed 100%. Some of us have been lurking/visiting the forums for years, I would have never deleted my cookies if I hadn't checked the forums with another computer that loaded it fine... I'm sure PLENTY of people still think that the forums are down

Guys, I'm sure the site mods can make an exception to this, it is crazy to lose a lot of traffic because of problem that most are unaware of and can be easily fixed.

You could ask someone on that side to put up some kind of headline about it - don't be such a doof.

Yeah... Jeez I was wondering why an update would take 4+ days like what was going on... Then on a hunch I decided to visit it in IE and saw the message.

Posting the solution to a problem in an area you can't get to BECAUSE of the problem, is IMO the dumbest thing I have ever seen. Seriously.... This needs to go on the front page or maybe Anand's blog or something so people can actually read it.

It's absolutely silly what has happened to this forum over the last month. There's no excuse. For all the talk of expanding the forums by "an order of magnitude", there certainly seems to be a behind-the-scenes push to do exactly the opposite.

This is arguably the BEST forum for us tech-heads on the net. If you have a software upgrade you'd like to test, put it at http://newforum.anandtech.com and have all of us bang on it to work out the problems. After 6 months or so, port it over to the real site.

Sheesh.
