Company recalls tainted pet food

In a letter to thousands of its suppliers, Diamond Pet Food announced it found aflatoxin in products made at its Gaston, South Carolina, plant, said Chief Operating Officer Mark Brinkmann.

Products made at the Gaston facility are shipped to Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, Vermont and Virginia.

Yea I have not heard of them either but I thought they may make generic stuff and other peoples name might be on it. Maybe even store brands?
 
I know a guy here in Greenvile SC who owns a pet food company, I hope it isn't him! I don't know the name of his co., but his stuff is carried by PetSmart.

Our local news just ran a story of a local dog that died from this. He didn;'t want to eat, but his owner kept putting gravy and stuff on the food to get the dog to keep eating, never knowing that it was the food that was killing the dog. Now the owner feels like its his fault for poisening his dog.
