Last month, I canceled my Wireless Aircard line with AT&T. Today, I pay my bill online, and noticed that there was still a charge appearing on my canceled line. Hmmmm...what's up with that? I think maybe it's just a prorated charge, so I review my bill statement and discovered that it's a $9.99 Mobile Gaming fee??? WTF...

I never noticed this charge before, so I give Customer Service a call. She credits me for just two months, and I also tried to get an explanation on how and when this charge started to which I never got a satisfactory answer.

So...better check your AT&T bills

Why do tv/communication companies fuck up the bill so often? Out of my last 10 contracts, only virgin mobile managed to not screw me.

We switched to AT&T's Uverse in February...they haven't managed to get a single bill right yet.

It SHOULDN'T be that difficult...it's exactly the same every month..

You should be checking all of your bills. You missed this for at least two months, and possibly much longer, because you trusted them too much.

Probably done on purpose with the hope it's not found often. Other than that, can't think of any other logical reason for it to happen so often

In the process now... My bills have always been hard to keep track of because of all the international txts I send each month. Because I had two lines, the bill gets rolled up into one total, so I really thought nothing of it. Now, that I've canceled the one line, this charge became all the more obvious :(

Because of all the mergers, buying other companies, etc. have left their billing systems a complete mess. And don't get me started on their actual provisioning systems.

OP, did you ever play games on the AT&T system? I wonder if there was some default "I agree to be billed for blah, blah, blah" hidden in the user agreement when you logged into the game site.

The CSR did mention that it was a subscription from a text message I recieved. However, my aircard account does not have txt messaging. After reviewing my bills, I discovered the charge started 12/2009, and it did list the website for the charge Gamer-data.com.

When I checked out the website, it immediately asks for a phone#, and I know better than to enter my number.

No use crying over spilled milk, I guess. Live and learn...

And the CSR didn't put up much of a fight in crediting me, however, they can only go back 2 months...
