I'm testing out XP mode on an Asus P5KPL + E6750 c2d. I was wondering if there was a way to check if the vanderpool technology is being utilized in virtualbox (or any other visor).

The problem is that whenever I start XP mode, it tells me that virtualization is not detected, but i've set it in the BIOS and left the PC off the power for 5 mins. I'm now thinking if Virtualbox ever made use of that feature.

Would XP mode work if 7 isn't activated too? still trying to get our KMS up and runnning so that could be it as well?

If you have VT-X enabled in virtualbox, and it starts the virtual machine without complaining, then it works.

And yes, I think XP mode requires 7 to be activated.

Thanks Fox5. I forgot to mention that I was using a Xeon 3.2GHz (prescott i think) and my virtual machines were running fine even though i didn't untick the default checkbox for VT-x/AMD-V. That's why I assumed that maybe virtualbox just tries to use these technology and doesn't complain if it can't.
