The sad thing is, he doesnt know jack about computers and all he will be doing is playing Counter-strike on this! God what a waste! I know I forgot a couple things though because the total was actually around $5000. I wish my parents would buy me this! That monitor is beautiful, DROOL...
 
It is overpriced. He could get more for so many money. I mean except from the twin scsi drives nothing is sooooo pricey. Convice him to buy it from another place (if he's a real friend-if not....what the hell!!!! 🙂
 
Well his parents ordered it a couple weeks ago. It has been delayed due to (according to alienware) paint problems. I already convinced him to go AMD instead of the PIV. I couldn't convince him further. Yes that is a waste of money. But he doesnt understand that.
 
If he doesn't know a thing of computers and u convinced him that the Athlon is better from the PIV that's GREAT. Confratulations. I cmyself couldn't have done it... LOL. So u already saved him a lot. 🙂
 
5000$ ??? If I had that kind of money, I'd build the same computer and be walking around with 2000$ in my pockets...
 
I agree that alienware is overpriced...been so for years...

Most of it is obvioulsy tied up in that monitor...

What a waste for a guy just playing counterstrike...
 
Get this!:
I convinced a friend not to buy a Alienware, and to let me build it for him. He was looking at a 2195 ddr aleinware computer. I said i could build a better one for under $1400. I showed him what it would be, and said I would just make it for him one afternoon. He was so happy, and so gracious, that he is going to give me $2000 and have me build it for him! That would be mighty cool, but I doubt he will keep his word...
 
I thought about asking him if I could build it for him but then I thought, Hell no! I don't want to be tech support anymore for these dumb people. Plus I really doubt his parents would give me 3 or more thousand dollars to go spend. And yeah most of that 5,000 bucks is in that monitor and the harddrives.
