I was next to a DeLorean on my way in today. We were stopped due to a wreck ahead and I figured I'd take a pic. I've seen them at car shows and stuff, but never actually out on the road.

I've seen a couple. A guy in huntsville has one. They are horrendously sh*ty cars, and totally overrated, but you already knew that 🙂 I think my old sentra was faster.

yeah, i cried a little when i found out just how crappy and overhyped they were. I really had no idea how short they were, i guess since michael j fox is so short you don't notice it in BTTF
 
do you all know the backstory on these cars? how this was the only car ever made by the company and the owner of the company got wrapped up on drugs and stuff and sent the company bankrupt.
 
They're kinda neat.

They use Bosch CIS [continuous injection system], like my car does.. it can be a pain in the ass sometime..

i don't know too much about them, there was a quite good thread on here about them some time ago, and i realized then that i had never seen one out on the road.

i don't feel like doing google searches, anyone know off the top of their head what years they were produced? I think they only came in black and brushed aluminum... how many total were produced, and what was sticker cost?
 
AWESOME! I've wanted a DeLorean ever since I saw BTTF when I was 7 or 8...

I will own one someday, And I deffinitly will Modify it to look exactly like the BTTF 2 car (flux capacitor and all!)
 
I can't believe they made a car out of stainless stell yet left the exhaust system to rust in a pile. It was a good body design but the power-train is just a bunch of crappy parts thrown together.

When you turn 15 you'll probably start to realize that this is a complete waste of time and money and you'll start dreaming of real cars instead.
