Total cash out of pocket: $150. I also traded this, though. But I've got this coming in the mail next week as a replacement.

Cyclcross is hard work. Those cats are in crazy shape. It's great early season/off season stuff though. Hammer!

Ok, well, here's the story about how I got all my bikes.

Today, I picked up the Celeste colored Bianchi cyclocross bike in the OP. I found that on Craigslist. The bike wasn't actually lsited on craigslist, but I offered up my Il Pompino for sale/trade on craigslist, and the guy with the Bianchi sent me an email and said he'd trade.

The reason I offered the Il Pompino for sale in the first place, is because it's very similar to the Redline that I have coming in next week, and I didn't want two bikes that were essentially the same.

I'm getting the Redline in trade for work I did for a bike shop, on thier website.

I got the Il Pompino in the first place from a guy on Craigslist that wanted to trade it for a mountain bike. I had a Kona Scrap that I wasn't riding, so I traded that for the Il Pompino, that eventually got traded for the Bianchi. The Kona I actually bought off ebay in the first place.

The purple BIanchi is a little different story. I volunteer at a place in Sacramento called the Sacramento Bicycle Kitchen. It's a non-profit cooperative kind of place, and they mostly work on older bikes that people bring in to have fixed, and they fixed up dontated bikes and sell them for cheap.

Well, once in a while someone dontaes something pretty nice. I volunteer there on Wednesday nights, but I was over there yesterday for other reasons, and someone walked in with a purple Bianchi as a donation. The fork on it was bent, but the bike was otherwise in great shape. I took the bike, swapped the fork for a carbon one that was sitting around the shop, and paid the bicycle kitchen $150 for the whole thing.

A few people have gotten really good deals on bikes at the bike kitchen, but you have to wait around and see what comes in to the shop, since it's all donations. I'm there every week, so I have a pretty good idea of what the nice bikes in the shop are.
