PSU

Looks to be good, with a nice pricetag and some good reviews under its belt. What do you all think or know?

Thanks!
Dan

Fix your link thing.

Also, is it as good as a FSP PSU?
(my guess is probably not cause I've never heard of that brand)

It's a so-so unit at best. Pony-up to a $50 Fortron. That unit is not even listed at thier
site, they stop at 400W. See the 5V@44A?? That's a red flag. Only old style PSUs and
high-end server grade PSUs need/have that kind of 5V wattage.

If you insist on having it, do not expect it to be long lived.

I would buy a 450W Fortron over that unit anyday.

Thanks

although, why is it bad that it has that much voltage? Sorry, I know enough about the other PC components, but not enough about the most important one. Which would you recommend, for roughly $40 at most before shipping? I know it might seem like a small price, but there must be some good PSUs out there for that. Maybe $50 if the shipping isnt too high. Thanks for the help!

Well one thing for sure...Fortron/Sparkle make the best bang for the buck power supply's on the planet.

Second place is way...And I mean waaayyy back there...Not even in the same building.

Buy the Fortron that is in you price range.

Directron usually has great pricing on Fortron supply's.

FSP and SPI make great power supplies. I would take one of those over that one. Go with brands that are recommended and most people trust (although Antec has gone down the drain with their NeoHE PSUs). For the price of a Fortron/Sparkle, they can't be beat.

Actually the only model Hipro I would buy is the Type R modular!!

From what I have read that Hipro that is in the link is OK...but there are way better PSU`s around even for say another $20.

I would get the extra cash up for the Fortron since they have a proven track record and are less likely to let you down.

Get something that supports SLI, because soon enough, its going to be a necessity at the rate things are going.
