Wow ... I wish it looked like that back when I lived in Bakersfield. Instead it was miles of desert, white trash, and Dust Devils, with +110F temps. Not a very pleasant place to be.

That looks more fake than Michael Jackson. The sky is so...'perfect' and odd in a way, too.

Did you take this? Can you provide some EXIF data?

My mom went down there in April just to paint the flowers while they were like that. Of course, it wasn't really THAT close to Bakersfield where she went.

better save that picture, it won't look that nice for another 100 years. It's the only advantage of a near record breaking rainy season.

Most of the desert wildflowers are somewhat fluorecent (absorb UV light and re-emit in the visible spectrum) so they seem brighter than life. Closeups of cactus flowers and gold poppies often saturate the ccd on my digital camera.
