Since NASA is now convinced Mars was a wet planet before, I wouldn't be surprised if we find a couple of fossils there... Too bad the rovers won't be operational for much longer...

Makes you think doesnt it. Im sure they knew the day the rover rolled off its platform that it was at one time the floor of a ocean or huge lake. why are they now just releasing the info.

I just want to know what are in the photos that are not released by nasa?

NASA will hold a press conference Tuesday to announce "significant findings" about water on Mars based on evidence from its Opportunity Mars rover.

"It's going to be the most significant science results that we've had from the rovers, and it's bearing on their primary mission," NASA spokesperson Don Savage told SPACE.com . That mission is to find signs of water that might support life.

Well I am sure they don't want to declare something this big prematurely... They will look incredibly stupid if they later say "oops sorry everyone, we made a mistake..."

So I guess they had to really confirm their findings before they make an announcement...

Not to mention the communications delay makes it impossible to prevent something like that from happening.

I can see the "fossil". But i doubt that they "ground it up" to hide it from us or anything. If that where true they wouldent have released it.

That website is crap.

EDIT: Looked more at the website. OH NO! 2 rocks kinda-sorta MIGHT look similar. Conspiracy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
