Check out this clear case!

yeah... looks are fine, but unsound...

the drives are not grounded to the case... the case is definitely not grounded.

appears to have no EMI shielding, so it is not FCC compliant.

all, in all, no one ever listens to me when the clear craze broke out many moons ago.

to ground drives: use screws. use a single wire to connect the screws which are screwed into drives.

easier method for drive mounting, rails.

EMI shielding, metal mesh, one layer which is still see through is better than nothing.

wait...are you saying that my drives might be damaged if I go with this case??

I don't understand what you mean by this line. Can you clarify?

i dont think they wil be damaged, but you could get radio interferance on just about everything in your system, might make stuff act funny. One time i had my case off and was running my comp messing around with it, a trucker went down my road on his CB radio, windows locked up, it also got funny if my stereo was on across the room, but then when the full metal case was on, nothing ever botherd it.

it does look pretty cool though,

my case gets to dusty, id be embarrased to show off its innards anyways

It really does look cool - sans cables and dust.

Aren't many OEM cases made out of plastic? How do they deal with EMI? And I thought EMI was a problem for devices outside the case, not inside?
🙂

Yeah, watch out for dust... you know how that stuff likes to collect inside cases, and with this case it will be visible and ugly. My $0.02

Maybe should have made it with the wire enforced plexiglass....

The wire mesh would act as EMI shielding if properly grounded to the PS ground (earth).

Still looks cool though!🙂
