Well if you are on a campus network then it's probably a DS3 or better, Viper GTS was just saying that you weren't getting those speeds on DSL/Cable/T1.

Actually I pulled 8mbps while downloading UT2k3 from a server in Germany a few weeks ago... So therefore, I win

At work on weekends I have access to an OC-12 that is shared with the other 5 people that work weekends and 3 of them barely know what the Intenet is.


This is a pissing contest that doesn't really matter since most sites cannot match the max that we can pull.

8 mbps is only 1MBps. Deeko's transfer was 5MBps average.

I have yet to find a server that actually maxes my bandwidth. That download I just did there was about 11mbytes/sec for the first half, then slowed down.

screenshot is not enough deeko. take the DSLreports bandwidth test so we know for sure.

when i download from my server in the same room its like 10Mbps.....so any old screenshot wont work.

DSLReports doesn't like me, it reports like 600kbps. Don't really know why.

The company I work for provides I2 connections to several universities in the southeast US. I don't really know what the schools are doing with them but they are some fat pipes.
