Out of curiosity, who hasn't been to that Chinese strip mall in Alhambra (I think that's where it is, correct me if I'm wrong)?

I'm from Utah and I've probably been there 15 times....basically every time we go down to LA. It's like Mecca for Chinese people.

You can't exactly put a nice lens on a phone.

BTW, problems with cell phone camera are not because of its megapixels. Megapixel is only good for developing detailed large pictures. Lens has been a problem in early days, but nowadays cell phone camera lens is more than enough for its need.
The problem is that most of cell phone cameras use CMOS sensor instead of CCD sensor (OP's camera uses CCD). So far, CMOS is only good when they're large. Some companies, including Samsung, has been working on better CMOS sensors but they won't be available in near future.

Anway, take a look at some of cell phone(all of them uses CCD) pics

I'm glad you mentioned that. This is one of the few camera phones where Samsung put a CCD imager in it.

EDIT: after this, the only thing really left to improve the camera in the phone is the lens.
