I'm gonna order everything from newegg in a few days:

Intel Pentium4 1.6A Reatil
Asus P4T-E
(2x256) 512MB Corsair PC800 RDRAM
Western Digital 120GB Special Edition
Sound Blaster Audigy
Antec 1030B w/Antec 300W PSU
16X Toshiba DVD-ROM Drive
D-Link 10/100 NIC
Gainward 64MB GeForce3 Ti200 w/TV out

I hope to hit at leats 2133 with the 1.6A, is the Corsair RAM any good?

you may want to consider changing the RDRAM stick to 2x256 mb sticks since the 850 chipset is a dual channel solution and thus you will need at least two banks filled. As well its uncertain how overclockable these ram sticks are though it is well known that the 128mb sticks are overclockable

Looks good, thought I heard the DDR will o/c better than RDRAM..... But stick with RDRAM.

I would suggest going with a p4t-e that you know has the ics memory clock chips. I know there is at least one vendor that specifically lists it, I'm sure there are more. I can't remember who it was though. I have also heard that samsung memory will overclock better than kingston, though i was unable to reach stable 1066 speeds with my 2x256 meg modules. Currently, low density modules overclock better. You might consider going with 2x128meg modules now, and when the official 1066 modules are released in a couple months you could make the upgrade then and sell the ram you are buying now.

You might consider asking some of the video card gurus around here if the 128meg version of the geforce 3 ti200 is worth it. I don't know anything about video cards. Looks like a good setup though.

edit - btw, get the liteon 16x dvd. It rocks.

didn't know that one listed it specifically but yep good call and that system looks sweet right down to the rdram in two sticks as mentioned (just in case you did overlook this which i doubt)

hope this helps

save $40 and only go with the 64 MB card....then take that extra money and get the 1.8A instead of the 1.6A. i'm sure you'll appreciate an extra 266 MHz of processor speed (when overclocked to 2400 as opposed to 2133) rather than the extra 64 MB of video memory

You might consider the Chieftech w/ 420w Channel Well power supply instead of the Antec. Both are identical and made by Chenmig, and Channel Well mfg's the Antec powersupply. I paid 92.00 shipped from newegg.com for mine.

In addition, the 128MB GF3 TI200 is not worth the extra cash. I owned one for a few weeks and saw no improvement over the 64MB counterpart.

The abit Th7-2 will overclock better and easier than the Asus board.
Get Samsung RDRAM (16Device).
Also I am not sure if the Antec PS has the P4 connector. I bought the case last year and it did not have it, although this might have changed.

Go with the 64MB graphics card. I would also suggest that you go with a 100GB or 120GB Western Digital Special Edition hard drive. Hard drives are the biggest bottleneck of overall system performance so it makes since to spend the extra dough for the fastest. I also second the 16X LiteOn DVD player. If you look over at storage review, it is the fastest DVD drive made.

Skip the Maxtor and pick up one of those special edition western digital drives, either the wd1000jb or the wd1200jb. You can get em' for right around 200 bones, and their performance is supposed to be on par with a SCSI hd...
