If you think a full-fledged nav system doesn't work better than a map, you have never used a nav system. They are superior in just about every way... safety, usability, accuracy, etc.

I guess your map can reroute a new route at a touch of a button if there's a road block, traffic jam or an accident? Or how about showing you where the nearest bank, atm, gas station or store is in a unfamiliar area? And can your map make people say "Wow, that thing is sweet"?:D

yea, i wonder how i found everywhere i went over the last 28 yrs driving without one..

safer than a map?

The 3D view seems kind of useless - the times when a nav system would be most useful, you should be listening to what it tells you and watching for turns, not watching the screen to see what the next turn will look like (and missing all the traffic in front of you).

I've always wanted an in-car nav system, but it seems like an expensive toy I'd get bored with eventually (like my Axim)
