Watched a review on the Acer touch screen monitor used by the OP.

Didn't know that Windows 7 was to "touch screen complaint", I wonder if OS X is the same. Looks like a new project to do since I like to tweak/tinker and play with gadgets.

Good job OP. This got me thinking, they have these all in one touch pc's now. If they could make one thin enough, you could easily load it with your x86 operating system of choice and have a mongo tablet basically.

With that many views in 24 hours expect Youtube to approach you to put ads on your video. I did almost two years ago and made a whole $20 on 27,000 views. You dont get paid until you reach $100 though.

Wont pay much but its a good start to partnership. ;)

That is pretty awesome. Just need to upgrade to a screen that covers a whole wall to give it that sci fi movie effect. :p OMG... think you could get that working with a smart board? I think it would be epic!

So what is the point,it is a choppy android desktop as that is far from portable and looks like it would give you carpal tunnel syndrome from all the twisting of the wrist ...

To each Thier own I guess ...;)

I finally got a chance to see the video, and I'm curious... which dev board did you use?

Here's the site where I was looking at them:
http://www.arm.com/support/university/development-platforms/cortex-a8-development-platforms.php

I considered picking up a Panda Board (A9) or a Sony Mali-based board. I thought the Sony board was kinda nice because it has a built-in SIM card slot.

EDIT:

This one looks kinda nifty too. A dual-core A9 + Mali 400 GPU.

I did use a pandaboard . There are a few boards like that out there, but the panda seems to be the one with the biggest community/documentation around it.

it's neat....but why didn't you just use a PC again? couldn't you build a tiny, tiny little system that would be infinitely more powerful?

It would, but Android currently only runs on ARM. There's a community port to x86 but I think it's a little hacky and incomplete.

Android was pretty much a must, since Windows isn't built with touch in mind and no apps would work well.

It seems really slow, like each press takes .25 seconds to register. :\

I'm guessing he's using this one, since it's the only 23'' Acer touch screen I could find.

Might be a later model, but not the same OP used (discontinued).
Post#12 already mentioned what it is. :p
