went on vacation in Cancun about 3 weeks ago. we stayed at the Royal Mayan Resort - it was very luxurious and very spacious. We had a 2 bedroom villa. I took about 950 pics but here are a select few. there are even some underwater pics in there. taken with my A85 protected in the Canon underwater case.

let me know what you think.

best viewed with IE. the cool fade effects on the thumbnails dont work in IE or Opera :(

eh? which one?

The Hard Rock Cafe, looks like it has a roof over it? Like, it's inside of another larger building?

Is that Xcaret? How is that place now? Last time I went was like 6 years ago and it was starting to get really commercial, like a Disneyland with coral. I first went about 10 years ago when the park was just opening up and no one new about it, thought it was one of the more beautiful places I'd ever seen.

i guess you can say that. but not really. it was pretty cool inside though. The architecture of some of the resorts in Cancun are amazing. never seen anything like that here

it was a just a liiitle bit too crowded. But nothing like Disneyland. Its still beautiful. The beaches are so peaceful. I wanted to go snorkeling in Cozumel...but we didnt have any time

Sorry to hear that, but to be honest the snorkeling in Cozumel isn't that much better than the reefs close to the mainland and around Isla Mujeres, but the diving is spectacular, though not for beginners (fast currents, greater depths). Also, it's out of the way and tough to do on a tight schedule. I wouldn't be too disappointed about not going.

Good to hear about Xcaret, though. I was starting to get worried about one of the highlights of the area.

aw. to be honest, I was a little disappointed with the corals near the mainland and was hoping it would be better near Cozumel. ah well. Id love to go diving, but I have no experience and I get these nasty foot cramps after a while from the fins. so gotta stay at the surface (with some occasional free dives)

Those pictures look great. I'll be going there in less than a week. Actually, it's a bit south of there, in Akumal.
Lots of hot guys on the beach when you went?
