hehe...:)

if you're bragging...
let me get a piece too.

i just tested out my p4 1.8a with p4s333. :)
and i got it to run at 2790 :)

let see... 104+8 for mobo
187+6.95 for retail cpu with hsf :)

all that for 305.95 :)

you can't top that.

and what's kh7a+?

are you talking about 8kha+?
newegg's got them for 91+9
and xp1800+ for 152+6.95
258.95 total.

even 1.6a will mostlikely do 2.4ghz
hey... don't get me wrong... i love my epox 8kha+ with 1ghz axia ... but at the moment, it's pretty clear who the winner is.

who's crying now?

hoihtah you are right i meesed up with the board its a 8K7A+

This is the first system i have ever built so i was just going to compare non OC numbers with my neighbors P4. I am just starting to read what and what not to do to overclock.

excuse me if i'm not getting something here...
but why did you go with amd 760 chipset mobo?
i guess a better question would be...
why did you not get kt266a or kt333 or nForce or any of other newer and faster chipset board?

before you open up that package when it comes tomorrow...
i'd seriously consider returning the mobo.

don't get too carried away with excitement.
i haven't compared any amd760 chipset mobo's myself...
but i bet even k7s5a will outperform that mobo.

Because every single review i read about the 8K7A+ said it was a proven rock solid board. I did look at the Gigabyte 7VRXP and it had great reviews but was out of my price range.

Im moving from a HP AMD-K6-2 300MHz so this will be a HUGE leap in computer power for me.

Citrix,

Sounds very nice. Enjoy and be merry. Just be patient and sober while installing the HSF/HS.:Q

what i still don't understand citrix
why didn't you go with 8kha+
for the same amount of money you could've gotten a kt266a
and many reviews will tell you that this board is stable as well.

in terms of overclockability... it probaly can match or beat 8K7A+
...

the only difference is... you're starting off with a faster chipset
so your end result will be greater

think of it in this way.
as an example...
you can oc celeron 300a to 450 very easy
and most does it with great stability.
and that cpu got a great review from everywhere
but that's still 450mhz that you're talking about.

and very old as well.

same deal with your mobo...
it's quite old school.

i understand that going from amd k6-2 300...
this is an exciting jump..
but why take a small step when you can take a larger one for the same money?
