Check out my new office chair....

They told me I could get a new chair for my desk at work as long as it was under $200 and from Staples. I ended up getting this.

I feel kinda bad cause only 2 other people in my area got new chairs and mine has a heated massage as well as it's leather. Best part is that I work for the state. 😉 It was actaully the same price as everyone else's chairs, so I didn't feel that bad.
I'm enjoying the heated massage right now....it's a weak vibrating massage type chair, but it's not too bad for the price. Anyone else have this chair? Pros and Cons?

Don't feel bad. I'm governement too and I have a Herman Miller Aeion.

ROI? what ROI?
Herman Miller....wasn't that the author of "The Crucible"? (I'm sure Arthur and Herman were probably alive at the same time) We have a lot of that stuff around and have been trying to clear it out when we can get real desks or Steelcase. I haven't ever seen an HM chair.... I just scrapped my 10 year old small office chair for a nice one. I just hope this thing holds up....I won't be getting another for a long time. 😛

Pillow headrest, eh? Plan on getting some sleep done? 😛
I wish...I always have my lights off in my office. The only prob is that I'm 6'4" tall...when I sit down in this chair and lean all the way back, my head can rest on top of the head rest....

Did you use a $20 off $150 coupon?
Nope...Since we have an account with staples, we automatically get a discount. I just gave the SKU to the secretary and she ordered it at 30% off the price with no tax and free delivery.

After reading this thread, I made a remarkable discovery! I do have the Herman Miller Aeron Lumbar chair in my office. When our Systems Administrator left, everyone was scrambling to acquire his 19" LCD, and since I already had one, I scored the chair, and everyone laughed at me. I honestly don't think I could work without this thing 9 hours a day anymore. Now I just have to figure out how to 'spirit' it out of the workplace, and into my home office.

I have the best chair of any of the 400 employees we have on site. Wow.

Made my frickin' day 🙂

No...the truth is we're not doing anything bad at all. We seriously don't get any money for office equipment refreshes or anything. It's pathetic to think that I've worked here for 7 years on and off and have never had anything new except for this chair. My desks are probably older than I am and I have to go to our surplus dept every few months to get upgrades from departments that are throwing their old stuff out.

Some govt organizations truly abuse their budgets because if they don't spend it, they lose it. We're govt and IT....we can easily run our budget up just by getting needed training, upgrading servers, and warranties on older servers. It ususally doesn't leave us any money to play with.
