So... after over 3 years of playing guitar, and starting to play a lot more in public - maybe some gigs coming up and such... it was time to get a "real" acoustic guitar... I had been using a early 80's alvarez with a cheap "stick in the soundhole" pickup and it just wasn't cutting it anymore. So for my birthday my parents gave me $600 towards a new guitar which was great... except I wanted a Taylor and those run quite a lot more than $600... long story short... after waiting two months for them to build it I just got my new guitar a couple days ago and I am in love... It's a 2003 Taylor 614ce with the new Expression System pickup... it sounds awesome. It cost me $2175... so that hurts, but it was worth it for sure... I am gonna be super paranoid about it... never owned something that expensive in my life...

check out the pictures here...

NICE! I cant decide whether to get a better acoustic, or an electric. I have about $900 to spend from Tax refunds. I'd blow it all on a Gibson LP Studio, except thats my spending money for the rest of the year prolly, until I get a job.

WOW/ nice! i'm currently saving up for a new guitar as well, i've been playing for about two-three years as well, and i'm using a $200 guitar i got about a year and a half ago......i'm thinking of going with the semi-hollow electrics, such as the gibson es333 *drool* it'll ONLY set me back about 1700

gibson es333... nice.. i wouldn't mind one of those :) if i didn't need a car so bad.. i'm sure the next thing i'd blow my money on would be a new guitar... a taylor 12 string jumbo would be wonderous...

congratulations dude! that's awesome. Taylor's are some of the best acoustic guitars out there (short of a hand-made custom). Now you just need an SWR California Blonde amp to go with it!

Nice guitar - looks decked out with the binding and inlays. My next acoustic guitar will probably be a Taylor, I really like the bright sound (I have a Taylor Big Baby and it's the best playing guitar I've owned).

Wow, sweet guitar. It's nice when parents help you out with stuff like this, my parents paid half for my 1988 Fender American HM Strat about 8 months ago :)

edit: here's a pic of mine, I don't have a pic of my Marshall VS100 half stack tho :(

those are pretty nice amps. i've had the VS100 head and a full size marshall 412 for about 5 years or so. selling both to help fund my new Marshall DSL100, JJ tubes, and custom 412 cabinet with some special celestions you can't get in marshalls these days. :)
