look into getting a Liteon DVD-R/RW...t is a fast cd-r/rw burner as well as dvd-rom but with te dvd burning capabilities there...hould be in the 110-130 range....

With that powerful CPU and video card, I really doubt that PSU will be sufficient. It may work, but you'd be pushing it. Do yourself a favor and get an Antec or Enermax 430W or higher PSU :)

430W is overkill. A QUALITY 350W will do. Fortron, Enermax, Sparkle, and Antec are all good brands. I have a 350W Fortron and it runs my computer just fine, and can be pushed even further if needed, not to mention its adjustable 120mm fan.

Antec Sonata is much better and it looks better, too.
Intel Pentium4 3.0 GHz 800MHz
Fast chip, good call.
ASUS 865PE Motherboard
ASUS P4P800 Deluxe is a nice board. The Abit IS7-G is nice as well.
Corsair Dual Channel Kit 184 Pin 1G(512MBx2)
Get PC3500 or faster for overclocking. PC3200 is good enough if you won't be overclocking.
CD/DVD RW 48x24x48x16 Combo Drive
I'd get a separate DVD-R/W and CD-R/W. Lite-On is a good brand and they're affordable drives.
Western Digital 160GB 7200RPM SATA HARD DRIVE
Why not get 2 80GB drives and RAID-0 them?
ATI RADEON 9800PRO
Nice card.

Good luck.

That psu will be absolutely fine. I am running a 9800 pro, 2500+, 3 harddrives, 2 disk drives and a floppy... also a tv tuner and sound card on a 350 watt power supply.

This means nothing...The P4 runs on the 12v rail and the AMD chip does not. This modern 3ghz+ P4s need 20+ amps on the 12v rail IMO to be safe...Whether that means a top notch 350watt or decent priced true power antecs in the 400 to 430 watt range.

My old p4 at 1.6a@2.74ghz had already reached its limit with the 350watt and I had to go to 430 antec...the antec started suffering at 3.2ghz with my old p4b...Now my new p4c and my enermax 430watt is starting to show signs at 3.5-3.6ghz...12v line dips to 11.8-11.74ghz...

A decent 350W will more than power that system. Those little ShuttleXPC PSU's are about 250W and they do the job fine.

On a side note, a Dell 1750 Server has only a 330W PSU and can power Dual 3.06 Xeons, 4GB memory, 3x 73GB U320 15K HDD's.
