Power supply is way overkill for that, would prolly run fine with 350w, i had a 350w on my system, which is very simular, changed to 420w because i thought it was to little, but it worked fine, so if you wanna save money, i would get a 400 or 430 instead of 480

Hi, welcome to AT!

Looks good, though you may want t o get a Radeon 9800 at Circuit City this week (they're on sale for only $199), and you may want to use a PATA Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 (when on sale, they're tons cheaper than the SATA one, and they're quieter too).

If high end gaming is going to be a frequent activity on that "low budget system" (it's low budget not by the way), you may want to consider getting 1GB of RAM. It is becoming common for newer games to use lots of RAM to run at their peak. BF1942, UT2003, and the newest SimCity are prime examples.

Aside from that, the system looks good. Run that 2500+ as a 3200+ for the best bang for the buck.

thanks for the comments, i'll take them all into consideration. i guess by budget i meant price/performance. and in comparison to many of the prebuilt gaming systems i saw online, this seems to be of top value. i was hoping to spend under $1k and with xmas around the corner that should be accomplished. think i'll check out cc for that sale, looks like a sweet deal.
