I am planning on building a new computer just for gaming. i have been doing lots and lots of reading and trying the find the best stuff for the best price. ok so heres my specs

CPU- i7 920 2.66 Ghz Quad Core

MOBO- ASUS Rampage II Extreme LGA 1366

RAM- G.SKILL 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666)

PSU- SILVERSTONE OP1000-E 1000W ATX

HARD DRIVE- Western Digital Caviar Black WD5001AALS 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache

GPU- BFG Tech BFGEGTX2801024E GeForce GTX 280(plan on going Tri Sli in the future)

CASE- Antec Twelve Hundred Full Tower Gaming Case


This is the beast i hope to be building tell what you think or would recommend me changing

I would go with 3 x 2GB modules to take full advantage of the triple channel memory support.

On a budget, but you're buying a 1000W PSU and planning on the currently poorly supported Tri-SLI?

i didnt mean tri sli anytime soon maybe next november if then. and that power supply is a good price for 1000. im tryin to keep this thing under 1600 and right now im at 1583 (1493 with rebates) and i dont think DDR3 1600 is worth it right now

If you're building for gaming you don't want to go i7. Just go for a P45-UD3P motherboard, e8600 and 8GB DDR2-1000 (two G.Skill kits). Overclock to 4GHz or so and nothing will slow you down.
