Check Link Speed (Auto Detect, Full Duplex, etc)

Does anyone know of a way to check what the link speed is set at on the NIC without having to log off the user and logon as administrator??

We have all XP PC's and the users don't have the rights to see this information. Is there a way to go through dos or an application I could use to see this without having to log them off?
