Everyone wants faster download speeds.
I want to make sure that I am getting the most out of my network.
How do I do that?
Is there a "Simple" way to measure download speeds?
Is there a way to measure transfer speed from my desktop pc to my laptop?
This is my network.
Comcast internet service and it is around 15 mb download.
Motorola modem provideded by Comcast. Model SB510IU (I think the modem is still a dosis 1)
The modem is connected to a older Linksys wrt160n ver3 with firmware that is one update behind current version.
Desktop is connected to Linksys router via ethernet cable.
If I remember right the Linksys is set up so the laptop can use the "N" band for downloads.
Printer is connected to Linksys router via ethernet cable.
Currently I just use the network and internet for e-mail and music streaming.
Future use will be for using Netflix, etc for downloading movies and whatever else the grandkids will find to do when they are here.
For now testing and finding problems is the main concern. If there is a problem or weak link I will take care of it.
Thanks
