Cheating in Battlefield BC2/BF3

I didn't see any cheaters in BF3 until about 2 weeks ago, have seen 2 blatant cheaters since.

Cheater 1 joined the server, and everyone on our team just insta-died. Kill-cam showed an EOD bot just sitting there. Everytime someone spawned they would insta-die.

Cheater 2 was a blatantly clear aimbotter. At first he was running around with an 870 with slugs. I didn't realize he was cheating at first because I only got killed by him once or twice at close range where I didn't see where he came from. His score was like 70-10 which is high but not unheard of on even teams in Metro. Then he switched to a MG and was just unloading belts into a wall. That got a lot of people's attention.

Then he switched to a FAMAS. When our team was trying to break out of C, whole squads would just drop over dead in quadruple and quintuple kills. All made with 2 shot bursts by a FAMAS at ~50yards away at the end of the tunnel. You could clearly see his aim robot-locking on to people in the death cam. He went like 150-15 and then got kicked when an admin finally showed up. I checked out his profile but it looked clean, he was good at not cheating for too long at one time and lowering his average accuracy by dumping ammo.

I went 13-0 last night, until I ran out of ammo, does anyone know how to pick up a kit from someone that you've killed? I don't seem to see a key binding that allows you to do that.

You have to hold R for 2 seconds while pointing at the kit (not the dead soldier. The kit may have slid away some distance).

99% of the time people that get called out for hacking are just good. The 1% that actually are hacking/cheating are hard to stop, because punkbuster has to be updated with a definition of whatever new cheats are released. Eventually, they are banned.

hackers will always be one step ahead of the anti-cheat systems. that's just the way it is. there is no way for them to completely prevent all cheats all the time.

Yeah, by definition, because until the bad guys come up with an attack the good guys don't know how to prevent it.

This is where dedicated servers shine. The admin themselves can ban a hacker if they see someone obviously hacking, assuming PB don't detect it.

I don't think so, when its obvious someone is hacking it is obvious. At worst I'd say its 50/50.
