you get what you pay for. I got some cheapo mp3/cd player from frys once and it was a total POS. It wouldn't load up my Mp3 CD half the time even though I used good media and closed the session, it would skip easily with the anti skip protection on and it broke within couple of months. I could never figure out how to navigate folders or even select a specific song in the same folder without out going through all of them. It didn't come with any instructions so it was a pain to try and figure out. I'd personally go for this Panasonic for 50
One problem I read in the past with cheap players is an obscenely long load time between songs. And some have a really long scan when you first start it up.
