Anyone knows the cheapest way to fax about 10 pages of document to a local fax number? I tried Office Depot last time and they charged me about $1 a page.

Are there any places or ways that are cheaper? TIA.

EDIT: These documents are hard copies, not electronic. I probably faxed about 5 times in my life.

Unless he doesn't have a modem in his computer.... But that was going to be my suggestion too.

I am using DSL at home, no longer used dial up.

Do you have to buy a fax modem? If so, how much and where to get it. I am not familiar with fax stuffs.

Do you have an electronic copy of the document?

If so, just send them using eFax... you upload the document to their server, and they fax it for you.

No, the documents are hard copies <school diploma and college degrees plus certificates>.

Then how exactly do you think you're going to get around paying to use someone's fax machine?

Find someway that are cheaper. Just don't want to pay a buck a page. Just thought ATOT members have better way to fax hard copies.

Oh... ok, that won't work then.

You are going to need to use somebody's fax machine then.

There are some grocery store chains (like Giant Eagle here in Ohio) that allow faxing for pretty cheap. Even some discount drug stores offer the service for cheap.

Or buy a cheap fax machine, use it to send your fax, then return it to the store saying it didn't meet your expectation.

Just kidding about the last one...

Only problem with that is I'm guessing the OP doesn't have a scanner either.

I guess he could have it scanned at Kinko's, but then he's right back at square one trying to save money.

scanning is cheaper, at least it wont cost him a buck a page. and he just brings his own medium of storage (CD, floppy...etc.) or have them email it right away or email it to himself then he can keep them as copies for future use.

I have a scanner but haven't use it <still in the box>.

No I can't scan and email. The requirement is fax the hard copies of the documents.

I guess I have 3 options:

1. Go to OD/OM/Kinkos and pay about $1 a page.
2. Go to a friend with a fax and offer to pay for lunch to use the fax..LOL.
3. Buy a cheap fax machine and use it in the long term.
