i need to move from Portland Oregon down to San Diego California. i don't have a car or a drivers liscense. i'm single and i have a one bedroom apartment but all the furniture will be staying. whats the cheapest way to do this? i'm assumeing that i'll need to get my liacense but i'm 24 so it's about time anyway.

- rent a u-haul 1 way for $1,500 or so plus gas
- buy a cheap pick-up and rent a uhaul trailer for $175 and gas
- moveing company of some sort?

i'm not looking forward to a crash course in driviing then driveing 1000 miles in a pick-up with a trailer hooked to it.

Just curious - why don't you have a drivers licence? How much stuff are you taking with you?

Have a fire sale everything must go. Then pack your clothing in a few boxes & take it on to the train/bus with you.

Don't do it. Seriously.

Get a moving company to take your stuff, or just ship it via the cheapest method. Then fly to San Diego.

My question is, if you're leaving the furniture, HOW IN THE WORLD are you going to fill a truck+trailer?

It seems to me that you could get rid of a LOT of junk.

not looking to sell much more than all the furniture, i'm 24 and live on my own what would i be running away from? without the furniture i'd say all my stuff would take up about half of a small u-haul.

Why would you rent a U-Haul if you drove then? Seems that it would fit in the back of a truck...

I still say get someone to ship it.

1. Join the Navy.
2. Commit a minor but court-martial-worthy offense (e.g., drugs or larceny).
3. You will be confined at Miramar Naval Brig in San Diego, then released in SD.

Simple!

Nik isn't doing much but e has no truck so i'd have to buy one and fly him back home. it would more than likely fit in the back to an F150 with a shell but just to be safe i'm factoring in a possible trailer just in case.

i thought i saw a place that would drop off a big wood crate and you filled it up and then they shipped it for you. they would probably be my best bet but i have no idea what company it was. any ideas?

So why are you moving ??

It seems like you're no where finacially stable to just take off and move.
