Cheapest way to get Windows 7 legit, "ultimate steal" retail copies?

Awhile back there was a $30 deal. At the time, I was not a student. I am now enrolled in class and the Ultimate steal website let me in. They have W7 pro for $65, but I have to pick 32-bit or 64-bit. I'm pretty set on 64bit. Are these retail copies (meaning I can upgrade my rig and still use the license) or OEM? Are there better deals then this out there?

This is the only deal so far that I am aware of. They say it is an upgrade (the digital river website), but I installed it using a retail DVD and it took the key fine. You can also do a simple registry edit to make a retail DVD take an upgrade key. I would not worry too much about the keys being upgrade/retail. I believe they are retail and not OEM.

You can try to order the software from school. Most schools sell it and you can get it picked up on campus.

Before you could have also called microsoft (google microsoft store) and say you want the student special and tell them you want a full retail windows 7 pro version and they sent you a retail boxed version for the same price as online.

I'd check your school's bookstore or tech store to see if they could get you a good deal on Windows 7.

You should still be able to call Microsoft and have them send you the full version for $65 rather than get the download "upgrade" copy online.

How does one go about getting the full version? I have no retail DVD to install from.

Like I said, if you call the microsoft store ask for the full retail box and they will send it to you for the same price. Make sure to say you want the student special and ask if it is the professional full retail.

Not sure if this still works, but you can try.

If you already have a key, get the DVD from torrents or use this link direct from microsoft

http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/...links-ultimate-professional-and-home-premium/Link that was here is illegal and was dropped (JackMDS Mod).

I am not sure if they are the upgrade or full, but you can do some tricks to make the upgrade a full.
