Does TMo offer month-to-month unlimited? I think it's the unlimited part of this that's making it so hard to give the op a good answer. AFAIK none of the carriers are actually unlimited; it's X GB and then you get capped at various speeds and/or sent to the bottom of the priority heap. And then there's cell phone data versus tethering.

Tmobile has a soft cap at 21GB per month for their "unlimited" plan.

How much data does the OP really need? "Unlimited" can mean so many things now. I've seen BYOD plans with that name with as little as 1GB of 4G data a month before it throttles you to 56k.

Straight Talk gives you 5 GB for $45. That might be enough if you're willing to use Wi-Fi hotspots when you find them. You're going to have to hack your phone to do tethering, though.

Hey ATOT. I'm trying to find a cheap way to get to the moon. Can anyone give me any advice on how I can get quick, cheap, and non-deadly transportation to the moon if I don't have anything?

ONLY CONTRIBUTE IF YOU HAVE SERIOUS INFO! This is a serious topic!

Wow, first I get troll answers, then a supposedly "experienced" forum member doesn't even read my question and assumes I am a cheap ass. Anandtech has really gone down the dumps. You mods should start doing some work.

Agreed. People expect you to only ask the questions for which you already know the answers, and mods do nothing.

This is a tech forum, jackass. This is exactly where OP should be asking their question.

WTF, mods? Why do you allow this bullshit? People should be able to come here to learn without being treated like idiots.

This is off topic. Get over yourself.

There is no "cheap" option for unlimited mobile internet access.

Unless you consider municipal WiFi "mobile internet access". The OP is going to the middle of nowhere, though, so I doubt that he'll find that there.

you'll find that you'll get a lot better answers if you post in any of the other sub forums. People just hang around here to waste time in Off-Topic.

I will be working in California for 1 month and would like the cheapest way to get unlimited internet for that month. I will be working in Plaster City near El Centro, California.

Honestly I think the cheapest way is just add tethering to your cell phone plan. Bring a nice long USB cable so you can set up your phone in a good spot, like a window.

Get a dialup plan from an ISP that's within same area (ex: number wont be long distance). You can just dial from anywhere. You might have a hard time finding a modem though. :p

You can use payphones too if you find a captain crunch whistle.

Dialup would be bloody slow these days though, websites are codded so horribly I can't imagine trying to do much with it, but it would be fine for email and stuff.

That's not a bad idea. Dialup covers the essentials as long as up/downloading large files isn't required(No. Netflix isn't a requirement).

I'm sure the OP has a dial-up modem and since he needs to have mobile access, it's not a good idea.

Not being helpful is one thing. Shitting on the OP for asking a valid question is quite another.

Asking a valid question is one thing. Shitting on valid responses to a shitty question is another.
