In your opinion what are the cheapest cards for the following categories:

1440p ultra @ 144 Hz

1440p ultra @ 60 Hz

1080p ultra @ 144 Hz

1080p ultra @ 60 Hz

And what CPU would you use with your card selection(s).

Bonus question: What CPU and GPU combination would you use for CS:GO @ 1440p (Highest settings) 144Hz and 1080p (Highest settings) 144 Hz.

P.S. If you want to comment on 4K @ 60Hz please do so as well.

It completely comes down to what game you are expecting those FPS and resolutions at. Not even a Titan XP can handle 144fps at 1080p let alone 1440p on Ultra in many games.

Yea that's why I put a ? on the 1440p, 144hz, Pascal Titan x
really no single card can do most games at 1440p with 100+ framerates.

Yeah, thats why it makes it a silly question to find the cheapest card for 1080 / 1440 144hz without knowing the game, as the cheapest might be over $1k and still not fit the criteria :D

Yeah for that kind of requirement you basically buy the best stuff available. No such thing as a cheap 144hz solution, at any res really.

The fact that you different between refresh rates within the same resolution implies you want a vsync framelock with the native refresh rate.

Unless you are playing CS:GO and other esports exclusively you'll find "Not Applicable" as the answer to most of those.

for 144fps at 1440p look into SLI titans and id probably go with a 6 core to keep them fed, even then will be a stretch.

cbn, he is referring to video cards + CPU combination... not monitors. You know, answering your question.

Agree with most people here. There's a vast canyon sized difference in the requirements for CS:GO at 1440/144hz and BF1 at 1440/144hz.

You will need a 1080 or 1070 if you want any level of image quality and over 60fps in most current games. With my 1070, I'm happy if I get more than 60fps on my monitor.

GTX 1070 minimum, but you would need to turn the settings down a bit in some games. I use the 1070 with a 144HZ 1440p monitor, and I my FPS is typically pretty up there, but I don't run things at max typically.
