"Cheap" is a relative" thing: How much do you want to spend, and what do you need? Are you looking for a IOS-based?

Be more specific.

I believe the 29xx and 35xx switches run Real IOS. One way to tell is to go to Cisco's site / CCO and try to download an OS image, if the OS image is like a 12.1.x or a 12.2.x then it's probably Real IOS, and if the version number is < 11.x.y then it's Fake IOS.

Be very careful, most older/cheaper Catalyst switches run Fake IOS.

you can get something like cisco 1900 24ports, 10 base t for $150 at ebay.

if you need 100 base t, get a 2924 for $500 at ebay.

both run IOS.

Very cheap if you ask me :).

Hope its good enough for you.
