My sister just recently gave birith so I'm thinking about giving her an impromptu gift - a bunch of family pictures, including pictures of her toddler and the new one, framed. I'd like to fill a wall in her family room with pictures - we're talking 20-30 (asked my brother in law and he loves the idea, so that's not the issue)..

I have to pick up a printer with cheap generic ink available. Any ideas? Also, any idea what brand makes decent glossy paper?

I don't need the pictures to last 20 years, we have digital archives and I'm sure the wall will lose it's novelty when they're older.

I need to spend as little money as possible and I might just toss the printer after I'm done with this project, I have a great laser printer I use for daily use and don't need color beyond this.

Well, I'm hoping for many odd sizes so I was thinking it would be easier to do at home.

20-30 was an under estimate. I want to track the life of my niece, now 3, my sister, my brother in law and my new nephew, so it's going to be a lot of pictures.

I was talking to my mom about this last night. She prints stuff out at walmart all the time and it's like .16$ per normal sized photo and you can get em in many different sizes too.

Perhaps you guys are right. For my own curiosity, are there any cheapie printers out there with easily attainable generic ink? I have a canon pixma sitting around since the ink is so expensive.
