Cheapest power 120mm fans?

So, I figure I want to see what my best possible OC is with air... so I want to replace the stock fan on the Xigmatek S-1283 (this thing barely spins). Noise is not an issue... I'll have a fan controller on it. I just want the highest CFM/$ value I can find... preferably 3-pin or maybe a PWM fan if possible.

EDIT: how much of an improvement can I expect from replacing the fan with a 80+ CFM fan, anyway?

not worrying about noise:

Yate Loon 120mm D12SH-12 - 88cfm - 3-pin and 4-pin molex (anywhere from $4-7)
CoolJag Everflow R121225BUAF - 110cfm - pwm (about $10)

You should get some decent results.

yea for cheap high CFM fans the yate loon D12SH fans arent bad. check jabtech, performancepcs, petras tech shop, frozencpu, and any other store you trust that sells them before you buy em, since prices vary from store to store. yate loon only sells their fans in bulk quantities, since they are a manufacturer, not a distributor or a reseller, so some stores sell them at near or close to MSRP, while others turn some of that bulk discount back to the customer. I also found a store once that was selling them in bulk quantities, but i have been unable to find it again. anyone here know of a store that does this? i need about 40 fans for a project im working on and i remember seeing them up for quantities of 10 or 50

Awesome round up of fans.

I tend to believe that CFM/dB is the most important ratio to look at. Fans aren't going to break your wallet but The D12SH fans are definitely great. Yate Loon is good overall. You can't go wrong with Panaflo either although they don't perform AS well.

As for those Delta fans someone recommended... you best make sure you can draw that much power from a fan plug. 48W. LOL. I dare you stick your finger in there.

I got a CM 120mm//super hi rpm fan forgot the model number. that thing sounds like a ventilator when turned all the way up. i discourage going for these although they put out like 2x/3x more air than yateloon i got which is very quiet.

That WAS an excellent round-up. Thank you!

The Vapor thread is great. Note that contrary to advice in a post above, testing shows that Yates from Petra's are just flat-out better than Yates from elsewhere.

Hmm... how much of a difference do you have between 110CFM and 80CFM in terms of heatsink cooling? What about single fan vs. push-pull?

The factory CFM specs are in OPEN AIR. Those go out the window when you're using the fan on a heatsink, or a radiator or any way that presents significant resistance to the air flow. Go and re-read Vapor's fan testing posts to get your head straight. He generally highlights fans that do well on his radiator tests. Such fans generally do well on heatsinks too. Some of the Yate Loons do quite well on his radiator tests - probably the lowest cost fans that do well on them. Generally I prefer ball bearing fans for use in backpressure situations (e.g. the Sanyo Denki that he likes, but that is pretty much made of unobtainium these days). Check my FS/T link below for some ideas.
