Gas mileage isn't as great as it should be, and the ECU reads that the o2 sensor is out. What place is the cheapest to buy? Any online stores you guys know of?

Go to AutoZone... I paid like $20 for the one for my volvo, and they'll loan ya the tool to change it for free (deposit you get back when you return the tool).

Well, the ECU has been throwing its code for a while. And gas mileage has been pretty crappy.

Honda Crx si. For 20 bucks, i'm guessing people are buying the universal type? Does it matter?

You'll have to buy one for your car. Depending on what type it is, it can run anywhere from $25 to over $100. What year CRX?

It'll be fairly cheap then. That was back when they were still using mostly unheated sensors. The modern ones which have one or two heating elements are the ones that get expensive.

Edit: Carparts.com has sensors for your car in the $30-50 range.

As long as the one you get has the correct fitting and connector, it should work. I'd get it from a local parts store rather than off the net, so you can take it back if it doesn't fit. You can just tell the guy at the store the make/model of the car and he'll get one that will work.

it's a lot like a spark plug, IIRC. Just screws into your exhaust manifold before your catalytic converter and plugs into a single wire.

I heard somewhere that you have to blowtorch them to heat up the metal to get them out. Thiis is not the case?

No. You never want to try to take them out while the exhaust is hot. You can twist the threads off that way. Always wait unitl it's cool.
