You can get them from your local grocery store for free. When i worked as a stock boy I would have people asking for our empty cardboard boxes from the products all the time.

Home Depot had large boxes on sale last week when I got them for our move. $1.29 for huge boxes, .97 for medium size

Seconded. I had to do this a lot as well. Pissed me off when people would whine about us not having boxes. I liked to remind them it was a grocery store and to try a box factory, though. :)

you could always go pretty much anywhere and ask for boxes, not just grocery stores. anywhere that has to buy products will have them :p

I know that the last time I moved, UHaul had a huge bin with boxes that people returned - you could take as many of those as you wanted for free. I dunno if they still do this or not - this was about 1.5 years ago.

craigslist... people are always wanting people to come pick up their boxes after they move.
