Check out Buffalo, they are about as cheap as it gets while still being quality (IMO) ram. I don't know how high it can go... have had the pc3200/ch-5 at 215 in my NF7-S rev 1.2 (dual channel), but I have chipset instability at that setting. I think it is still $90 for 512 at Newegg... not the price you are looking for, but it is an option.

anyone else recommend a cheap memory ??

also how far do the pc2100 memories overclock ??

pc2700 ?

my nf7-s isn't even stable above like 180 it seems so i ain't too worried about anything over 200

Some Kingston ValueRAM is pretty good... I bought some PC2700 stuff for my aunt's computer that I built a month or two ago, and it runs 5-2-2-2 at 166 Mhz. I didn't try any overclocking, but I would assume it can run faster with looser timings.

It is hard to find ANY memory that will do 2-2-2-6 anymore, never mind for cheap. I had 2 sticks of the Buffalo PC3200 and it would NOT do even close to 2-2-2-6 on a 845PE based board. It had no Vdimm adjustment, so that may have been part of it. If you were to try Buffalo, I'd try the PC3700 stuff since it is based on BH5 chips instead of the PC3200's CH5 chips.
