Cheapest loudest best 5.1?

So we set up a projector in the apartment living room, onto the wall, and it's begging for more than the speaker in the projector.

Any recommendations?

I was thinking of the creative z640's but those are going on ebay for like $10, so maybe we can find a better set for that cheap too? But I don't know what a good set to look for would be.

Logitech Z5500s would cost a bit too much for us.

What's the source? Something like z-640s wouldn't work well with anything except a computer.

i got the z-550's for only $210 on ebay and they are SWEEEEEEEEETTTT. Just do it you wont regreat it. Otherwise..I guess you can get the 5.1 non digital ones from logitech..for like.. $60 bucks.. but they don't even compare.

I've been scouring Craigslist for months now, on the lookout for some audio equip upgrades, and I've seen some HTiB setups going for around that.

I'd look on Craigslist for some used HTIBs. They're going to suck, though.

I know you want 5.1, but for your budget, you'd be better off with some good 2.1s. IMO - 2.1 speakers at the price will probably perform better than 5.1s.

I just spent $160 on a single floorstander, which by all means is nothing in comparison to the big boys. Go straight for 2.1 territory.
