Hi everyone! :)

Basically I'm looking for a CHEAP laptop that can handle LoL. (League of Legends) However! I want to make sure I get 60+ FPS and at least MID MAX settings. Here are the specs that are needed for LoL https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en...4-Minimum-and-Recommended-System-Requirements

ALSO, I will be ONLY playing LoL so I assume I don't need to spend alot of dime on a laptop. Hence why I ask here for Laptop recommendations for ONLY LoL :D

My budget is no budget. Just find me CHEAPEST laptop that can handle LoL with the requirements I listed above :D

Really appreciate the help. I will donate $3 via PayPal to the person who finds me my dream laptop lol. :whiste:

Sorry for my bad grammar i am Swedish :)

Tom's Hardware has some interesting things to say about LoL:

Seeing that a dual-core Athlon II X2 260 manages to stay above 90 FPS at all times, it's a safe bet that LoL players don't have much to worry about as far as processor-based limitations are concerned. Any dual-core CPU above 2 GHz is probably a safe bet for smooth frame rates.

Remember that the mobile AMD A10-4600M (2.3 GHz base clock) and Intel's mobile Core i5-3210M (2.5 GHz base clock) are both able to keep frame rates above 35 FPS using weaker on-die graphics engines at this title's highest detail settings and a resolution of 1920x1080.

So I'm thinking an AMD APU is the way to go. Something roughly like this, with a nice APU and a low-res screen. (Hey, you didn't specify resolution! :sneaky:)

But you might try to get this moved to the SFF, Notebooks, Pre-Built/Barebones PCs forum and ask again.

If you follow the link to the SD thread, you see that Staples is actually offering two different laptops under that SKU, one is an older Haswell i3 with HD4400, and one is a newer Broadwell i3 with improved graphics. I'm thinking that if you could snag the Broadwell one, if you have a Staples store near you, then you might be set.

Or look for off-lease corp. machines, with older discrete GPUs. Newegg has loads of various refurb / off-lease laptops. You could trawl through them.

@Ken and Virtuallarry.
I think the Lenova laptop you linked is a bit overkill. Correct me if I'm wrong though. Also your right I have not mention what resolution lol. I want 1080p :)

I'm living in the UK atm so nope we don't have staples I don't think.

On my phone atm and it's 4AM I will reply back tommorow. Sorry for the short reply.good night all x

lol at thinking the lenovo is over powered

Basically its going to cost you $500-700 to get reliable 1080p 60FPS from a laptop in LoL.

I would recommend an AMD R7 M260X or an Nvidia GTX 840m graphics card or better. This would ensure 60FPS 1080p at minimum medium settings without dropping below 60FPS in team fights when 3 ultis are popping at once.

Something like this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lenovo-Z50-15-6-inch-Notebook-Black/dp/B00O8SDRKK
I believe that laptop actually supports dual graphics, the iGPU and the dedicated M260x actually pair together and give you a bit better performance than just a normal M260x would. Though I could be mistaken as lenovo doesn't make that model for the US so it is a bit hard to find information on it.

Thanks! Thats a bit pricey. I'm suprised that I need to spend that much for LoL :(

I'm looking for a 300-350 pounds laptop, is that possible?

Not really, here is an option for 400 pound, it's 720p though, and it probably wont get you much more than medium or low settings.

here is an option at 350 pound, also 720p, and the integrated GPU is just about as bad as the one posted above.

Another slightly more expensive option at about 420 pound, but the GPU is more powerful than the other two I posted and would get you more solid FPS at 720p.

Lol, no

You'd be looking at about 550 pound to get something decent from there.
Did a quick google search I found these

Also this http://laptopforgame.com/top-gaming-laptops-under-500-2015/

But when it comes to specs I have no clue what I'm suppose to look for.
If you could pick any of those above which 3 would you get for LoL with the requirements I listed on the thread? :hmm::hmm:

none of those are any better than the ones I already posted.

If I had to choose one I guess i'd pick this one
www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/X552CL-SX037H-ASUS-X552CL-SX037H_1504033.html

but again, that's pretty much just as bad as the others posted already.

You just dont have the budget to get what you want

I can spend 400-500 but I was hoping for a cheap laptop. I can go up to 400+ Also whats the difference between this http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/X552CL-SX037H-ASUS-X552CL-SX037H_1504033.html and the one you posted? The ASUS one looks more stylish :)

Also i have a desktop, I want a laptop for downstairs and whatnot.

The difference between that and the one I posted is nothing because that is the one I posted.

Unless you are talking about the several I posted earlier, in which case the difference is the ones I posted earlier are AMD CPU and GPU. That one is a low powered Intel CPU, matched with a low powered Nvidia GPU. I dont expect there is a significant difference in performance, a slight edge would go to the Nvidia GPU, but that intel CPU is low clocked (1.8Ghz) so the AMD cpus might make up a bit in that department.

According to an article on makeuseof.com, "A measly GT 750M can play that game [LOL] at greater than 60 FPS with detail set to maximum and resolution set to 1080p"

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...Q&gclsrc=aw.ds

This laptop has a much lower performance video card (820M) and as you can see, costs $699 USD, which translates to about 450 pounds. Not sure if you'll be able to find anything worthwhile for less than what mnewsham has already pointed out.

Maybe something refurbished:

Or used?

Thank you. I can't find that laptop anywhere on eBay and if I do the shipping probs cost 80. IIRC MSI is from the US? Also do you think you could list me couple of laptops I could pick from?

At least I can confirm that Geforce 710 coupled with Core i5 4500 isn't enough for normal resolution of 15" laptop.

When you say 1080p, I assume you mean on the screen of the laptop, right? (not to an external monitor)

That ups the ante quite a bit both performance wise and cost wise. Even in this day of high resolution tablets and phones, most cheaper laptops are still only 768p. And 1080p is a lot more demanding on the hardware as well.

You can get cheap laptops that will play LoL at 60FPS, they just don't come with 1080P screens. The only budget 1080P options are Chromebooks atm.
