I currently have a video card for dual monitors that I am happy with it is a PNY card for reference.

As the title says I'm looking for the cheapest solution to add a third output via HDMI to my HDTV through a second video card. I will even look at refurbs.

I have extra slots for pci-e x16 and regular x1

EDIT: nevermind from user comments it looks like you can! win! win!

I am using an ASUS 4350 for my HTPC to my HDTV(1080P). Works fine.

I've got a PNY Geforce GT 240 as my PhysX card and it is the only one of my 3 cards to have HDMI.

I think if you add a new card with HDMI and its the only one with HDMI then you can set the audio output of the computer to go through the HDMI of the secondary card if the proper HDMI Audio drivers are installed.

I run Vista and haven't actually tested this myself, however.

If bitstreaming audio over HDMI is important for you you'll have to go with the 5xxx series or 460/450, otherwise get something else.

I use 2 HD 5400, 500M video card in my system, one for my monitor and one for my HD TV, both using HDMI. Passive cooling on both. It works perfect for all the new HD sound formats

The one issue I have is when I use VLC to play movies, Aero gets disabled and I have to turn it back on manually when the movie is over. It might be a memory issue so it would probably be better to get a card with 1G of RAM.
