Cheapest hardware to capture VHS ( rca )

My PC has FireWire and USB, but my VideoCard is only VideoOut.
I have software to edit and burn video to DVD.

What is the cheapest hardware to capture VHS to video?
The reason I want the cheapest is that this is something I want to do - - not something I have to do.

or alternatively, Leadtek VC100XP.

It doesn't get more minimal than just the PCI videograbber chip and SVideo/Composite inputs. I have the Leadtek in my work PC - over the KWorld, the Leadtek has SVideo _and_ Composite inputs ... and Leadtek's software has a good track record of actually working. This cannot be said of all PCI video/TV input cards, sadly it's exactly the high profile brands that don't ever work right.

I like the suggestion.

I already have editing / burning software. Should I consider the TV Tuner model since the cost is almost the same ? I sounds like the included software can capture/record video.

I just picked up a basic vid-capture card from a fellow ATer on the ForSale forum for $11. If you want TV-tuner capabilities as well its going to be more expensive.

If you want to get excellent quality recordings, seriously try and stretch for a Hauppauge WinTV PVR250. You've got a good Athlon 64 w/ 1gig Ballistix ram, doesn't appear you're that hurting for cash. Do yourself a favor, the time you'll save working with the PVR250 far outweighs the higher initial price.
