Which of those three do you guys think is cheapest to send a 70lbs computer? I dont want to lug it around and get different quotes (too heavy). Do any of you have experience sending out large packages?

USPS Flat rate FTW! Just hope its an SFF...

Umm... if I really had to ship out something expensive... Either Fedex or DHL... Just make sure you take out things which you might think would fall out if you took it to a lanparty (big scythe heatsinks... etc.).

arrr....crap, does the shuttle spc fit the usps flat rate box? I paid $16 to have ups shipped it

Make it fit in here and you just paid $8.10 + insurance (optional)..

I've found in the past that FedEx Ground was always the cheapest. Not sure if that has changed or not.

Yep fed-ex ground is best bang for the buck. 🙂

Where the hell did you find a 70lb computer? Are you shipping a 19" CRT or something?

I recently shipped a computer and had it packed by UPS as well (box, monitor, accessories). Nearly $150 total. Luckily I wasn't paying for shipping 😀

im shipping my old XPS600 (~60lbs) later this week when the auction ends on ebay it will cost me a pretty penny as well

DHL ground

FedEx Ground raised their rates, they are about the same as UPS now

Yes ship it DHL.... That way your package can be lost 4 times, them not be able to find your customers address and make your customer drive to pick it up. Then the customer gets there and the package is destroyed!

Had this same scenerio happen EVERTIME someone shipped to me via DHL. UPS/Fedex have no problem finding my house, my address is about 1 miles off two main roads. DHL are IDIOTS!

I'm guessing it's an old 8086 system??

Seriously, how the heck can a system weigh that much?? I've shipped computers before, and never had one come out over 20#, even boxed! If you're thinking of shipping a crt, I'd say leave it at home and get a cheap lcd.

Oh, and the answer to your question is almost certainly (in this order) Fedex, UPS, USPS, DHL. I don't know why DHL thinks their trucks are lined in gold, but their prices are atrocious for just some joeschmoe wanting to ship something. Some folks get cheaper rates from Fedex, some from UPS. Go online and you can calculate the shipping rate fairly close to reality on either website. 🙂
