There isnt a 128 bit memory version?

If there is, i'd go for that.

Either way, the non turbo cache models should unlock.

no this is the Leadtek 6200 64-bit but for sure there's a Leadtek 6200 128-bit selling for $30 more!

I don't know if the 64-bit Leadtek 6200 I linked in this thread is TC or not. If it isn't then let's hope it can be unlocked!

TC is PCI-e only, so it's not. I don't know if 64 bitters can be unlocked or not, but the days of unlocking sound to be close to an end. nVidia released a new core that was more different than the 6600 that it was based on because of the unlockers. At least that's what I've been hearing. Your results may vary of course, but at this point it's hard to tell what will or won't unlock until you actually try it.

ya get the 128bit anyday....but i dont think spending $30 more is really worth it. u can probably look at the 6600(non-GT) which offers much better performance

yup picking up the 128bit version or even a higher model card will be desirable. But it we can confirm this card can be unlocked then it would make a good deal. By unlocking the card, it will become a 6600 and by OCing the card a bit, I may even get faster than the 6600 (only if the 64-bit doesn't hinder the performance much)!

well by unlocking the card u will still not be able to reach 6600 speeds....and 64bit does hinder the performance BIGTIME!!! especially when u crank up the details!! anyway u cant crank it up much on the 6200.

oh I see, I thought by unlocking the 6200 to 8 pipes it becomes the same as 6600 since they both have the same core, core speed and ram speed. At least that's what I saw in some other threads. That's why I thought it would be great if this card can get unlocked!

You have to remember that the bus width matters much more than the speed. If you unlock the extra four pipes you will still be greatly less than a 6600 if you get the 64bit card. I would venture to guess that a 6200 4pipe 128bit bus would be faster than 6200 8pipe 64bit bus in many games at a decent resolution.

thanks for the help I guess then it may not be such a great deal. So if unlocking a 6200 128-bit card to 8 pipes then it should perform about the same as the 6600 right? Thanks!

Get a refurb 6200 NON-TC with 128 bit interface refurb at newegg.com for $50. If it's defective get an RMA for a replacement.

well dont bet the sky that u would be able to unlock it to 8 pipes, u have to be lucky to get the remaining pipes unlocked....and also keep in mind by unlocking the pipes u are voiding ur warranty so if u screw ur card while softmodding it, u will lose ur money...but if ur lucky i guess it would perform close to a 6600(non-GT). so its upto u if u wanna take the risk

I seriously doubt they could tell you softmodded the card since no physical change is made to the card. Technically, you are voiding the warranty though.

Yes it does. I have a Leadtek 6200 agp in my second machine. It is unlocked. Added about 2000 pts to my 3dm03 scores.

It's a software modification, hence the name softmod. Once you uninstall the software (ie, rivatuner), the card is back to normal. As a matter of fact, I bought a refurb 6200 128bit card off Newegg. More than likely it won;t work, but the card was only $50.

Yeppers. All software. You can unlock the pipes with Rivatuner's utilities.
