Hi ppl

I need to drive 2 LCD monitors (1900x1200 and 1600x1200) on PCI-Express/Inel platfrom. No games at all - office apps only. Looking for cheapest solution here... Preferably NVIDIA because current ATI card (FireGL V3100) bluescreens when I try to enable hypethreading...

TIA
Leo

Do we need to bring back the dual-DVI sticky? There have been way too many of these threads lately.

Also, Newegg power search is REALLY good for things like this.

Thanks, guys

BFG 6600 GT does the job and works fine with hyperthreading on (just got one in Fry's).

I wouldn't say that the card is causing your computer to bluescreen. Hyperthreading needs to be turned on in the bios before you install windows. If it's not, you'll get the wrong HAL installed. This may be your problem.

Thanks for advice - I already tried to install fresh windows with hyperthreading turned on from BIOS before the install. Everything is fine till I installed ATI driver and rebooted, windows started to bluescreen on startup.

I think that sticky would still be handy - I'm looking for a dual-DVI card for a client and it's not that easy.

Search didn't bring up that magical thread. :(

Here's the link to the old thread. You need to search the 'archived' messages, since it's more than 90 days old at this point.

If you search by category on Newegg, there is an option for a "Power Search" that lets you specify which options you want in a card (ie, you can search for AGP cards with 2 DVI outputs, or PCI cards with two VGA outputs, or 6800GTs with two DVI outputs, or whatever). This is VERY helpful for this sort of thing, since it turns up new products that may not be on various lists.

I'm sure if someone wanted to create a new list of cards, it could be restickied, but I don't really have time. :p
