cheapest ddr-667 I can get away with?

I need 4gb of ram to go with an e2180 for the best overclock possible. Can I get away with value ram or do I need pricey stuff? Is ddr-667 the best choice? Thanks very much.

Kingston N5 1.8V DDR2 667 works well. No problem running 340-350MHz with 1.8V/4-4-4-12-2T. These RAMs run very well at 1.8V with four sticks. I would not waste more $ with DDR2 800.

Best deal was HP/Crucial for $9/GB AR a while back.

I haven't used any G.SKILL,before, but the $109.99 blue kit is what I'd get (5 eggs out of 146 reviews, 5-5-5-15, 1.8v, good price).

DDR2 800 will let you go to double your stock CPU speed (4GHz), without overclocking the RAM. If you think you can get over 100% OC, then think about pricey RAM .

Edit: I would only be concerned with Seprentroyal's choice because of using 4 DIMMs. Cheap, though.

the kingston n5 value ram are pretty nice. im doing CL3 and 1T command rate with 4 sticks @ 661mhz and 667mhz when my oc was @ 3.6ghz. overall for ram, faster ram wont really help out in perfromance in games as much as the graphics card. the e2180 has a 10x multiplier and 667ram @ 1:1 timings will get you 3.33ghz. slightly ocing the ram to 350mhz will net 3.5ghz, which im not sure the e2xx0 series can get to with comfortable voltages. overall, getting some low cost kingston n5 or maybe a cheap pair of 800mhz chips would be best. expensive ram is mainly for fsb oc'ing or for chips with low multipliers.

that is nothing for RAM like how it used to be.

128mb SD133's were well over a hundred bucks retail back on the day.
